Today’s Bible teaching and the song is about “VICTORY” in the battle with the spiritual forces. There are many “Christians” who are being deceived by Satan in believing that it is because of their strength and will power that they are having victory and being awarded worldly stuff. This deceptive teaching comes from the false “Prosperity or claim it and believe it” teaching whose leader is Satan.  Proverbs 16:18 says “Pride goes before destruction, and arrogance before failure.” This type of “victory” is just a mirage and will come to an end “Yet you do not know [the least thing] about what may happen in your life tomorrow. [What is secure in your life?] You are merely a vapor [like a puff of smoke or a wisp of steam from a cooking pot] that is visible for a little while and then vanishes [into thin air]. ” James 4:14, As true followers of Jesus our focus is not getting stuff on the earth or being “successful”, “popular” or any other fleshly thing because our treasure is in heaven Matthew 6:19-21.

There are other “Christians” who are fearful, defeated and discouraged and have walked away from God because they have believed in the lie that if they do not have “victory” over a sickness or some other problem then God is not real and the Bible is a lie.  Jesus said in John 8:44 “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Now there are times that as Christians our faith is weak and things don’t go the way they we want or God may be using a sickness or situation to get your attention or to strengthen your faith.

As followers of Jesus we need to understand and know that we are in a battle and the attacks of the enemy will get more stronger as the time draws closer for His soon return, “Political prognosticator and well-known conservative talk radio host Glenn Beck said Tuesday (11/3/2020) he believes the era of “easy Christianity is over.” “We are going to face some of the toughest times, I think, in all of Christianity in the next few years,” he told Faithwire managing editor Dan Andros, adding he believes that will be particularly true should Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden win the election. “Prepare yourself for that, and know what you stand for and what you believe in.” (Taken from Easy Christianity is over)

We need to keep our armor on and remember that “The Lord our banner (Yahweh-Nissi). The Lord gives us the victory in spiritual warfare. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Lord raises a banner of His love over us and covers us. He wages war on our behalf and makes us more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. Exodus 17:15, and that Jesus is “The Lord of Hosts (Yahweh-Sabbaoth). The Bible mentions myriads of angels, who wage war against the armies of hell, who try to destroy mankind. Jesus Christ is the Lord of hosts, the Captain of the armies of heaven. (Isaiah 6:1-3, 1 Samuel 1:3, 17:45; 2 Samuel 6:2, 7:26-27; 1 Chronicles 11:9; Haggai 1:5)

“For my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9

A primary qualification for serving God with any amount of success, and for doing God’s work well and triumphantly, is a sense of our own weakness. When God’s warrior marches forth to battle, strong in his own might, when he boasts, “I know that I shall conquer, my own right arm and my conquering sword shall get unto me the victory,” defeat is not far distant. God will not go forth with that man who marches in his own strength. He who reckoneth on victory thus has reckoned wrongly, for “it is not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” They who go forth to fight, boasting of their prowess, shall return with their gay banners trailed in the dust, and their armour stained with disgrace. Those who serve God must serve him in his own way, and in his strength, or he will never accept their service. That which man doth, unaided by divine strength, God can never own. The mere fruits of the earth he casteth away; he will only reap that corn, the seed of which was sown from heaven, watered by grace, and ripened by the sun of divine love. God will empty out all that thou hast before he will put his own into thee; he will first clean out thy granaries before he will fill them with the finest of the wheat. The river of God is full of water; but not one drop of it flows from earthly springs. God will have no

strength used in his battles but the strength which he himself imparts. Are you mourning over your own weakness? Take courage, for there must be a consciousness of weakness before the Lord will give thee victory. Your emptiness is but the preparation for your being filled, and your casting down is but the making ready for your lifting up.

“When I am weak then am I strong, Grace is my shield and Christ my song.”
